Photography competition
Here’s your chance to snap up a garden prize. The lovely people at the AA are offering this amazing book, The International Garden Photographer of the Year to five photography-mad readers. The book is simply stunning, and includes the winning image of Tresco Abbey gardens by Jonathan Berman and 15 year-old Kat Waters’ Young Garden Photographer for the Year-winning image ‘Purple Haze’.
All you need to do to win this beautiful book is enter your photos into our competition. There are five categories, and you can enter all or one of them. You can enter a maximum of five photos per entry.
Plant portraits
Whether a close-up or a long-shot, photos in this category will focus on plants, trees and shrubs which are primarily ornamental.
Pick of the munch
If you are growing some particularly beautiful fruit or vegetables this year, or have taken an incredible shot of your runner beans reaching for the sky, we want to see your photos.
Wild thing
Gardens rise and fall according to their wildlife. You might find a particularly curious slug lurking in your compost heap, or you might scoop a shot of a woodpecker feasting in one of your trees. Let your imagination run wild.
Gardens
The winner of this category will have taken a stunning photo of a large part of a garden. No close-up shots allowed. For some ideas, have a glance over our featured gardens.
Young photographers
Open to any photographers under 18 years old. Photos can be from any of the above categories.
Entries close at midnight on 1 October 2009. Email a maximum of five photos per entry to photos@fennelandfern.co.uk Place the category name in the subject, along with your full name.
You can enter all the categories, with a maximum of five photos per entry. A shortlist of five finalists will be produced for each category, and Fennel and Fern readers will vote for their winners.
Good luck!
