Here’s a tasty treat that you can pick from your flowerbeds: daylilies (Hemerocallis) are flowering right now, and they taste fabulous. You can use the flowers in sitr-fries, sauteed or fried in batter. Don’t feel bad about picking the flowers to eat: they only last a day anyway, and there will be plenty more opening in their place.
Please make sure you are picking Hemerocallis flowers, and not true lilies. True lilies are pretty nastily poisonous, so leave those flowers to shine in the garden.
