Winter honeysuckle (Lonicera x purpusii) is quite the loveliest of shrubs. Delicate, spindly, gently-coloured but with a scent that stops you in your tracks. Although it has rather pretty flowers, don’t be a fool and plant it right where you can see it. Far greater fun to hide this lovely plant a little, so that anyone who visits your garden has to tramp around and chase that strong, warm, girly scent.
