We launch this month’s wrap-up with a competition designed to help some of the world’s poorest people. World Vision, which is a truly excellent charity, has launched Growing for Change, which is a vegetable-growing competition with a twist. You can upload a picture of a vegetable that you have grown: big or small, beautiful or odd-looking, and in the meantime learn about some of the families the charity is helping in the Bolivian Andes.
World Vision got in touch with Fennel & Fern to explain that many of the children living in these communities suffer from severe malnutrition, and some have never even seen a fresh vegetable in their life. World Vision is helping these children by building greenhouses and teaching the villagers to grow their own vegetables for their homes and to sell.
