A stylish pair of wellies arrives just in time for autumn.
There are many, many reasons to be happy that autumn is on the way, not least the excuse to wear my shiny new wellies from Joules clothing. They are stripy and pink and ever so snazzy.
I’ve been without wellies for a few years now. These are a real treat as autumn approaches, and make me feel rather more glamorous than I do when I’m striding about in my rather aged walking boots. And given the allotment has about a month before it stops being glamorous and starts needing some serious tidying, I need to find some glamour from somewhere.
They’re also very nicely made and even though I have very, very big feet for a girl (I’m a very, very tall girl, so it stands to reason but is still quite annoying), they don’t look utterly monstrous, which in my book is very much a Good Thing.
I rather struggled to choose the pattern for these wellies. There are quite a few lovely options on the Joules site, from birds, dogs and horses to stripy, plain and even some wellies with bows on. I suspected I might get laughed at if I appeared on the allotment with bows around my legs though: I am already teased for arriving in heels, whacking on my walking boots and continuing to dig in a dress.
So I’m all set for a bright, glamorous autumn. But I’m also having a little sneak peek at Joules’ quilted jackets range. After all, there comes a point in the season where you need to be all snuggly as well as stylish.
