Foliage fireworks
I love the American word ‘fall’. Fall might just be a season in the States, but it’s a word that evokes so many beautiful images. At that moment between summer and the fall of the leaves, foliage catches fire. Lotus Johnson has captured some of the best fall foliage, and shares them with F&F readers. (Above: horse chestnut leaves)
Hazel (Corylus avellana) leaves.
Quercus palustris
Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus altissima)
Blueberry
Cherry tree
Acer palmatum dissectum
Beech leaves
Liquidambar styraciflua (Sweet gum)
Larix laricina
Medlar foliage
Acer palmatum
Gingko
Sumach (Rhus typhina)
Acer japonicum aconitifolium
Smoke bush (Cotinus coggygria)
