HomeBeautiful GardensVillandry part une The garden at Villandry in the Loire Valley, France, is probably the most incredible vegetable plot in the world. It is the perfect F&F garden: beautiful, tasty, organically-grown vegetables laid out in the most intricate and beautiful patterns. This potager and its surrounding herb and flower gardens are so very clever that over the next six weeks F&F will be running a weekly post of a different aspect of Villandry. Let’s meet the huge garden today. August 6, 2011 What a stunning place to go and visit. I wish my veg patch was that neat. Reply Sarah Bird August 8, 2011 I love that garden! I vividly remember the cabbage rows, so neat and tidy! Def redefines veg growing. Reply Caro (UrbanVegPatch) August 15, 2011 Absolutely beautiful and with planting to inspire other growers. I like the underplanted roses, a good use of soil. Is it all eaten I wonder, or just for show? Reply Michelle May 25, 2012 Hi, sounds like you are a big fan of Villandry. May I ask if early August or September is a better time to visit and see the bright colors of floral display? Reply F&F May 26, 2012 I think September would be good as you’ll see some big curcubits by then. But it looks amazing all year round: I went in July and that was pretty fab.
