Really-quick radish salad

Radishes geminate super-fast, meaning you can eat a super salad of beautifully-coloured microgreens in just a few days.

If you ever need a super-quick salad fix, radishes are the way to go. I sowed these just four days before I gobbled them down in a salad.

Week 13

This salad was a show-off salad, I’m afraid. I had someone coming round, and word is starting to spread that I grow abundant supplies of vegetables on my windowsill (I have hardly tried to stop this impression, greeting as I did two guests at the front door last week while clutching two large trays of peashoots). The windowsill farms are only really feeding me and my husband three times a week with salads, but I decided to cheat a little and re-sow radishes in the Sproutapouch.

Hung on the windowpane in the unseasonably warm sun, they sprung up in no time, ready to colour a salad with beautiful violet leaves.

This week I sowed

Mustard, lettuce ‘red salad bowl’, chives, basil, peas.
