HomeblogThe valley of the daffodils Each year, millions of daffodils come into flower across Hughenden Valley, near High Wycombe. So many people had told me about the bright river of daffodils that flows through Hughenden park in the spring time, but it wasnât until I found myself walking there one afternoon that I realised quite how incredible this planting is. These plantings are vast. So many daffodils altogether means the air smells so wonderfully warm and delicate. In the afternoon sun, families laze, take endless photographs of one another, and play in between the drifts of golden trumpets. This is how daffodils look best: in as big a planting as is possible. Not scattered around a flower bed, or in pots, but taking over the landscape for themselves: white, yellow and orange.
