HomeblogAiry fairy flowers Super-talented florist Ken Marten creates a light and bright summer arrangement. I had planned to use coloured vases for this display, but when I saw them in conjunction with the hydrangeas I changed my mind. As hydrangeas are still expensive at this time of the year, I knew I had to create some kind of design that relied on single heads in individual vases in order to have any kind of impact. The white canes were a cheap, if fiddly way to give some volume in the large reception space. The use of Ornithogalum arabicum was a last minute thing: my Dutchman had sent them to replace flowers that had died in another area of the hotel, however they had small heads and were too insignificant to use on their own. Here they served as the ideal transitional material between the hydrangeas and the canes. Share this:Share Leave a Reply Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.
