HomeblogPersimmon cocktail A stunning, sweet cocktail recipe. If there was one fruit I wish I could eat more often, it would be the persimmon. So mysterious, so surprising, so like a tomato when you first meet it yet more like a mango when you first eat it. Juicy, flavoursome, and altogether lovely. I’ve had some fun playing with the persimmons that came in my fruit delivery earlier this week. I put them in banana pancakes with grapes, which make for a lovely Middle-Eastern-style breakfast: But the most exciting recipe I’ve played with this week is the persimmon cocktail. This is very easy to make indeed. Ingredients 1 3/4 fl oz gin 2 persimmons 1/2 fl oz sugar syrup 1 fl oz lime juice Directions 1. Purée the persimmon with the sugar syrup. 2. Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously until combined. Serve in a cocktail glass rimmed with sugar and cinnamon. Never even heard of persimmons until this post! Tastes like a mango? Mmm! Where would I be able to find them? Presumably a good fruit & veg stall? Farmer’s market?
