Isn’t this book, The Cut Flower Patch, by Louise Curley, wonderful? Firstly, it’s pretty. Secondly, it’s practical. Cut flowers are something I’ve become more and more keen on since I got my allotment, and started becoming a bit more grown-up and homely. This book explains how to grow more than 35 cut flowers in your garden, and how to forage for bouquet materials too.

It isn’t just practical, neither is it just pretty. This book is packed with practical, expert tips and lovely creative flower arrangement ideas. I love the young beech leaves in the arrangement above, for instance.

Argh…that’s like asking me to choose my favourite child! It just can’t be done.
If you ask me that same question in an hour, a day, next week or next month, the answer would be different every time. I always like to cut and add corkscrew willow to accompany any flowers that I bring into the house.
Hmm…so what would I choose today?
(Obviously I need help and Louise’s beautiful book could just give me the answer)
Erm…I’m still thinking… freesia! How about that I did it…now I’ll have to lie down! :/
Thank you for the opportunity to enter and if I’m lucky to win ;D

My favorites are poppies, esp. the colourful Icelandic ones.. I chose them for my bridal bouquet! So stunning, fragile but strong at the same time. Loved them since I was 5!

If I walked into the garden today to pick - right now….a small posy of snowdrops. Perfect.
