HomeblogComforting kale My kale plants on my balcony really do keep me going through the worst of winter and the ‘hungry gap’ in spring when nothing new is ready to harvest and much of the previous year’s harvest has disappeared from storage into our bellies. These leaves are red russian, cavalo nero and curly kale, all grown from seed. And there are few better things to pair wilted kale with than some yummy, scrummy, hot poached eggs on a good muffin.
