Mini hose

F&F reviews the Pico Reel from Hozelock: a compact garden hose.

One of the trials of working a hilly garden is that you feel you’re forever lugging things up and down steps and slopes. Getting heavy bags of horse manure up to the top level, for instance, is no fun. Watering is also no fun. Or at least it was. I was sent a Pico Reel by Hozelock to review. Initially I thought ‘great, another hose’. But this has turned out to be one of the most useful products I’ve been sent for a while. Firstly, it is super-compact and definitely weighs less than my handbag.

It has a nice handle and everything clips in to the reel to make it nice and neat. It has 10m of hose, which is enough for me to water most bits of the garden from the two taps we have (one at the bottom and one on the top-but-one level).

It also has a number of different settings, from jet wash for cleaning the patio, to two different mist sprays, a rain setting, and a tap setting. All very useful.

I get sent a fair number of products to review. But if you have a small garden or a hilly garden that’s a pain to lug things up and down, I would really recommend this Pico Hose as it makes watering so much easier. So easy, in fact, that I don’t mind doing it, which is just as well when I have so much of it to do…
