Watch out for a gorgeous yellow and purple osteospermum, ‘Serenity Blue Eyed Beauty’ to hit the shops. This is a pretty fabulous Osteospermum. It’s called ‘Serenity Blue Eyed Beauty’, although it’s really not very serene at all. In fact, it’s so bright and cheerful that it makes you want to dance. It is one of the brand new plants that Ball Colegrave has just launched, and I saw it when I toured their amazing trial grounds. Plant Me Now will be selling Osteospermum ‘Serenity Blue Eyed Beauty’ next year, and I’m surprised to say that I’ll be buying it. When I say I’m surprised, it’s just that I never really had myself down as a bright and bold plant person. I’ve always gravitated towards soft purples and blues, rather than bright yellows and oranges. I now realise that this is partly because people often plant bright flowers inappropriately. I recently started loving gazanias when I realised how great they looked in containers, for instance. These Osteospermums will look incredible in a black pot on the patio, not in a flower bed.
