HomeblogWin Sarah Raven’s Cutting Garden Journal Sarah Raven’s expert guide to growing cut flowers all year round is a must-read. This is a lovely, lovely book to start the year with. Sarah Raven is one of the world’s best-known cut flower experts. She doesn’t just pick beautiful flowers, but she also knows how to grow them well, and is super-clear in her instructions to gardeners who want to fill their homes with flowers. This cutting garden journal is beautiful but practical. It takes you through the year and through all the tasks you’ll need to do at certain times of the year to ensure a steady flow of flowers. So there are recommendations on what to grow, practical photo-illustrated guides on plant care, such as pricking out seedlings and taking semi-ripe cuttings, and checklists each month. If your New Year’s resolution is to grow more cut flowers, this book, published by Frances Lincoln, is a must-read. And we are offering one lucky F&F reader a copy as a prize. You need to be quick as this competition runs for just one week. But all you need to do is post your New Year’s resolution in the comments below before 8 January. We’ll pick a winner at random.
