A pink spotted phalaenopsis makes F&F feel at home. I feel ever so at home in my little house that looks over the dream garden, really I do. And one of the things that has confirmed this to me, in a totally irrational way, is that I can now grow phalaenopsis orchids. When I say I can grow them, I mean that they keep returning to flower and look healthy on my kitchen windowsill. I’ve always noticed that orchids seem to flourish best in happy homes where the kitchen is warm and welcoming and everyone seems settled. So when I started to notice little flower stalks appearing on orchids given to me by relatives who could no longer grow them, I decided that this was proof: I finally had a home, not a house. This spotted phalaenopsis is particularly fine, and makes me very cheerful indeed as it looks like a cheerful children’s character as well as an orchid. I do hope this one stays around for as long as possible.
