HomeblogRed curly kale Red curly kale, or scarlet borecole, is a beautiful purple/blue-leaved winter vegetable with loads of flavour. It’s no secret that F&F loves kale. We’ve currently got four different types growing in the garden, with many, many more ready to be sown for the new year. Cavolo nero is the tastiest, but the most beautiful (and a close second in the taste stakes) is red curly kale. It’s not so much red as a beautiful blue-purple. Look at it: Its other name is scarlet borecole. It’s difficult to think of a prettier winter veg.
