5 Quirky Garden Furniture Ideas

Summer is here: daylight until well into the evening, delicious iced drinks coming back on the menus and that illusive stretch of good weather. When the sun does show its face, everyone makes a mad dash to the nearest beer garden or park to try and soak up as many warm rays as possible.

As we make the migration outdoors, it’s time to spruce up your garden – trim the lawn, pull those weeds and add some fun furniture to make the space as relaxing and fun as possible. Here are 5 additions for your outdoor area so you can make the most of the sunshine before an ominous cloud blows in!

1) Hammock

Perhaps you already have one of these in your garden, but a hammock is a summer essential. Ideal for lazy afternoons reading or a luxurious nap in the sun, a hammock is a great, fuss-free addition to your garden.

3) Drink cooler table

For those that are feeling especially ambitious, you can actually build your own outdoor dining table complete with built-in drink cooler. In the middle of the table, you can construct a drinks holder using planter boxes. Fill them with ice, add your favourite beverage and you can drink in comfort and style.

4) Swing

If you have young ones, a swing can provide hours and hours of entertainment, but you don’t need to be a child to enjoy one. You can buy a swingset or fashion your own out of rope and a large piece of wood. But remember to make sure that whatever you tie your swing to is incredibly sturdy!
