This is a good thing for privacy and a good thing for wildlife. But it makes trimming them harder. It means we need something a bit longer than our normal hedge trimmer, and so we were very interested in the offer from Gtech to review their HT05-Plus extendable hedge trimmer. This is a lightweight and easily manoeuvrable trimmer with a very good blade indeed. It lets you cut hedges up to 10ft tall, which means that even the leylandii is finally accessible. And it cuts quickly through soft foliage as well as tough woody stuff. It’s also cordless, which is important in a long, hilly garden such as ours, and also means you don’t live in fear of doing that awful thing where you accidentally cut through the cord. We would definitely recommend this trimmer - it is £119.95, so not cheap, but if you have a lot of hedge, it will go a long way.
