Fablonelistnyj tomatoes

Fablonelistnyj is a yellow mini-beefsteak tomato.

These tomatoes really are a mouthful. Not just in name, but in flavour and juiciness.

My ‘Fablonelistnyj’ tomatoes came in a pack from the Heritage Seed Library a few years ago, and I loved them. This year’s crop came from the very last seeds in the pack, and I’m now hunting for more for next year.

These are tiny little beefsteaks, and those voluptuous bulges are just full of sweet juice. They make lovely, surprising salad tomatoes.

I’m surprised more people don’t grow this variety, to be honest. The only reason I can think of is that it’s difficult to get hold of as seed and no-one really knows how to pronounce the name. But it’s one of the best that I’ve grown. It’s fab.

    You should be able to save the seeds from these as I’m assuming they are not F1 based on where you got them from. The Real Seeds website has a lot of info on this and its fairly easy for tomatoes. Definitely worth a try if its a variety you really like.
