F&F tidies all the boots and tools away into a pretty VegTrug storage box. One of the worst habits that I have as a gardener is being messy. When I’m finishing off at the end of a long day hauling manure around the garden, or clambering about a difficult rose bush that I’m trying to prune, I sort of forget to tidy up. And so shoes and tools and other things end up littering around by my back door, which isn’t really ideal. Primrose very kindly sent me this VegTrug wooden storage box to keep all my clutter in, and I’ve been using it this winter to see if it keeps my garden tidy - and keeps the weather out. As you can see, I’ve been using it like a proper gardener, that is, letting it take on its fair share of mud and weather. It’s a good roomy storage box with a really good big section at the bottom that means you can stand your wellies up, rather than let them flop all over the place. And it has a top shelf that you can access from the front door, or from above, like so: I put the hens’ food in here at the end of the day, as I don’t like leaving food out in the runs. And it stays beautifully dry overnight, as do all of my shoes. The doors are properly sealed with magnets, which means they don’t swing open easily unless you want to open them. The fixtures are really good quality too. And what was really good about this VegTrug box is that it was really, really easy to put together. You could easily do it on your own, which I particularly liked, as it meant that I could leave the under-gardener to it while I read seed catalogues with a glass of wine on the sofa. The wood is excellent quality, and it looks pretty too, which for me is an important test. I’m really happy with this storage box, and would so recommend it for anyone who wants to store their boots and other garden things in a secure, dry environment. You can buy it here.
